BBQ & long walks in the sun
Yesterday was very hot again. So I went to see Mezie at her flat and we ended up going for a walk along the River Ayr to the stepping stones again. It was lovely as were either a bit sheltered in the shade of the trees or there was a little bit of a breeze to make it more bearable.
I was sorely tempted to keep going and see how far it is to Annbank [and who might have been hanging around the riverbank] but bloody hell it was too hot to walk much further!! We went back to the cafe and were totally gasping for liquid refreshment by then.
Course today I mentioned this walk to P and he was like "oh you should have kept going another 20 miles and you would have seen me!"
"yeah.. the 20 miles kind of put me off"
"oh.. well I would have walked 20 miles to see you!!"
"aye right, so you would!"
"I would!" {big grin}
Its obviously not ACTUALLY 20 miles, but would have been at least as far as I had already walked. I, being the psycho stalker that I am, actually drove by Annbank on my way to Mezie's, just to see where the darn river is and as far as I can tell its not actually in the village so if he wasn't actually there I could have kept walking indefinitely!
After that Mezie asked me if I wanted to go back to hers for a BBQ as her brother and his dreaded girl were out. For once I said yeah {I'm weird about eating at other peoples houses} and although it took a while to get it all set up [not having any firelighters proved problematic..] it was yummy! And only the second BBQ I've ever been to!
The dreaded girl turned up with her wee boy and god he is adorable. And thats from someone who hates kids. He's just turned two and he seems to spend his time grinning constantly, sticking his tongue out and saying "ayeee" to everything he is asked! Bless :)
Today wasn't the best.
We had a big visit at work and that always stresses me a bit until they have cleared off and I can relax again. I'm always scared Creepy D will make me show them how the metal detectors work and they always play up then even if they have worked fine all day. Sucks.
Luckily he didn't :)
Aside from that it wasn't much of an interesting day.
