long walks

Decided to go a walk yesterday up to Stincher Falls.

After my last trip there when I didn't actually REACH the falls themselves I was determined to this time.

It was WAY further than I had expected so its no wonder I didn't see any sign of them last time. I must have only walked about a half mile from the 1½ mile sign!

Course I picked the hottest part of the day to do it and didn't take a drink with me. duh! But I did finally make it to the falls.

After walking along the never ending road, under the buzzing electricity pylons [yikes] and down the steep steep and, at one point, quite boggy path, down the hillside.

The worst of it is that although there is a newish looking viewing platform, the angle isn't very good, particularly for photographs since you are above the falls rather than looking at them straight on. So I prefer the small falls at the car park!! Ah well, at leasr it was exercise.

And it all looked very pretty with the heather blooming everywhere.

Isn't that a song or something? All among the blooming heather?

I stopped in Straiton on the way back to get a drink [a can of Fanta which I downed in about 3 gulps] but ended up not taking any pictures there because there were cars everywhere because of a wedding at the church.
