no foreign travels

Well firstly, I didn't book the trip to Stockholm. I'd heard about a cool sounding centrally located hostel but when I checked their website there was no availabilty for the dates I wanted and I couldn't really be arsed trailing the internet looking for another hostel in that area. I would have been surprised to find another one that close to the bus station.

My mother was right of course. I shouldn't always leave everything to the last minute. I do it every time. So instead I may just go somewhere in england for a few days. On a road trip or something. Course I haven't made up my mind yet cos that would be too much like forward planning.

But yeah, I'm bummed about Stockholm. Still, its made me more determined to organise something for New York in Nov ASAP. I plan to put in my holidays as soon as I can after I get back to work in 2 weeks and then book up right after that.

The only downside is that at present I have noone to go with. Mezie said she would go with me if she gets a job by then and has money but there is noone else I could really go with and I don't know anyone THERE. Seems like a good time to suddenly make friends with people in New York!

yesterday it was yet another nice day but after my exertions on Thursday I didn't want to overdo it too much. I just drove up to Straiton and took a couple of pictures to finish off my camera spool then took the film into Boots in Ayr for developping. Popped round to Mezie's flat for a gossip [and lets face it, a nosey at the state of her flat.. its coming along slowly:)] before going back to get my photos again.

Today is supposed to be the last good day til the middle of next week so I think I'll just grab my headphones & walkman, some CDs and some writing paper and head out the back door to make some headway with my letter to Anna. Its going to be fairly long since its a year since I last wrote her and that letter evidently got lost in the post. Bleh.

But yeah. Relaxing yet productive day planned :)
