running, driving and strawberries

I was very restrained. Apart from a bottle of Diet Coke the only thing I bought was strawberries. I saw tons of stuff I might have liked, especially books and so forth but i resisted.

We ended up deciding to get the strawberries cos they were 4 [albeit small] punnets for £1 so we thought we'd go halfers and have two each. But the guy only had 7 left so he said he'd give us the lot for £1.50. So I brought home 3½ punnets. We had some with dinner and I'm keeping the last ½ punet to put over my cereal with breakfast tomorrow for a bit of a treat!

The market was beyond busy. I've never seen the car boots stretch that far back along the racecourse and it was teeming with people. Maybe its just that its a bank holiday weekend, I dunno, but it seemed even busier then the days I went before when I would have thought the weather was better. It was very warm later on though.

The one thing I noticed was the number of stalls that had foot spas for sale. Like it was "national get-rid-of-your-foot-spa day" or something.

Odd.

So with all the nice weather I stayed indoors to watch the Hungarian Grand Prix [first win for one of my favs, Alonso and my other two faves in the top 5!] and then the World Championship Athletics with Jon Drummond making a complete prat of himself and refusing to leave the track. And then the french crowd making things even worse with all their booing. Its a bit ridiculous when its takes 50 minutes to get a 100metre race run that was over in like 10 seconds. Ah well, it was good apart from that. I did want Hale whatsit [not even going to TRY and spell it] from Ethiopia to win the 10,000 cos he's such a cheery wee guy but 2nd isn't bad!

I feel the need to lie in a cool bath for a long time..
