to do today
Its funny how doing the smallest of things can give me a little bit of a sense of acheivement.
Yesterday I had a fairly productive day. I decided what I would do [this was when I was in the bath but you didn't need to know that..] was make a to-do list just for yesterday and see how much of it I could get done and add anything else I managed to do along the way. That way at the end of the day I could look at it and think "yeah.. cool! I did all that stuff today".
So I had a few minor things on there and some other stuff like finishing my pal Stephs letter [check], resubscribing to my magazine [check] and subscribing to another one [check], go to post office [check], go to cinema [check], make a hair appointment [check] - well you get the picture.
At least I feel as if I did something with my day. For most of my holidays I've felt kind of like its just passing me by and since I haven't actually been away on holiday [aside from one night in Stirling] then I should have made the effort to get some other stuff done. Like the big tidy up I have been promising my room for the last year and a half [if not longer]. But baby steps.. If I can even get some little bits of it done before I go back to work that'd be a start and if I keep on making these mini daily to-do lists as well as working through my big to-do list I should actually GET somewhere.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++So yeah I went to the cinema last night to see American Pie - The wedding. It was way way funnier than I had thought it would be even although the last two were funny. I mean there was the one really gross bit [which I'm not going to mention because if you've seen it you probably don't want to be reminded with the visuals and if you haven't I wouldn't wish to put you off an otherwise funny film!!] that very nearly had me gagging but the rest of the time I was in stitches. The cinema was a lot busier than it normally is when I go since I went at night and usually I go in the afternoon, so that made for even louder laughter[which hopefully drowned out my own screechy hyena laugh] but also for more rustlyness.
Who in the hell decided that popcorn and crisps would make good movie watching food? They're NOISY. And popcorn sucks anyway. At least you can eat ice cream [I resisted the call of the Haagen Dazs for once! go me!] without disturbing everyone around you.
The main thing on the to-do list today is to go swimming followed by writing another letter, tidying out my workbag and washing my hat so they are ready for Saturday and clearing out my email inbox which has been sadly neglected. we'll see how I get on with that..
